Train timetable

Two girls looking at timetable

Find the departure and arrival times of trains and the travel time between all German train stations. The timetable also shows the type of train and if it requires an advance reservation.

Train details for your route will be shown in a new browser window.

Names of German cities are shown in the timetable with the German spelling, for example 'Köln' instead of 'Cologne' and ‘München’ instead of ‘Munich’.

German train timetables are updated twice a year - in June and December. Smaller changes may be made in between these months.

Making reservations

The timetable will indicate if an advance seat reservation is required or recommended. You can make reservations either at a German train station or directly online, up to 3 months in advance.

Finding departure times at the station

At all German stations you will find timetables showing departure times and platform listings. At major stations in Germany, computerized boards offer up-to-the-minute departure information. You can also ask train staff for schedules at the ticket window.
